A Beautifully Worn Rustic Obi: Low Contrast Stripes

This is a rustic, weft-based striped obi woven from cotton yarns that have weathered beautifully over time and have left the obi with a warm patina from wear.

The kimono sash is simply designed with bars of color tone that contrast with the indigo stripes; there is a fair amount of light staining and fading to the obi but somehow this does not detract from its simple beauty.

The colors are most likely plant-based and the weaving is tight.

This is a simple and lovely textile that was put to good use and no doubt had a long life.
