A Beautifully Subtle Old Zokin: Hand Spun Cotton Yarns

$28.00 USD

early twentieth century
11 3/4" x 17 1/2", 30 cm x 44.5 cm

Zokin are traditional Japanese dust rags which are almost always made from layered and sashiko stitched scraps of cloth.

This is an especially good zokin for its age and for its exquisite, hand spun cotton yarns and its beautiful light fading. The color is a barely visible, pale blue and the thick, cotton sashiko yarns are also a very slight tone of blue.

An extra good zokin with a lovely composition and good color.

Recommended.
