This rustic obi gives the impression that it is sakiori or ragweave, but in actual fact is woven from heavy, colored yarns which yield a wonderfully overall textured effect.
The warp yarns are dark in color and give a beautiful overall tonal effect to the obi as they modify the color of the weft yarns in a lovely way.
The way the obi is woven to create a checkerboard or color block effect is lovely, made even more so by such well-chosen colors.
The rich texture of this obi in combination with the agile coloration makes this a really lovely rustic obi. It is in good, used condition.
