This is a handsomely colored and woven sakiori obi, or a rustic, traditional kimono sash that is woven using shredded cloth as its weft yarn.
The warp yarns on this obi are black cotton which give the overall color a bit of depth. The weft yarns are fed in stripes of a silvery lavender and a red-purple-brown color. Lovely and muted.
This handsome obi is in good, used condition, with some surface wear, but with no visible stains or holes.A beautiful, elegant folk textile.
