A Ball of Sakiori Yarn: Torn Cloth for Rag Weaving

This ball of torn rag yarn was to be used in the service of sakiori weaving, and, it is important to note, this kind of raw material is exceedingly hard to find. It is a pleasure to present this  ball here for you to see.

The cloth seems to be mostly of hand spun cotton and the tearing of it is done rather loosely: the width of the yarn is varied due to what appears to be a hasty method of ripping large pieces of cloth to create suitable yarn for weaving.

This is of very good size and contained within this ball there seems to be a good array of different types of old cotton.
