A Ball of Cotton Yarn: Blues, White, Brown
$70.00 USD
mid twentieth century
6", 5.25 cm diameter
This is a ball of cotton yarns: two tones of blue, a rust color and white yarns are intermingled and wound around a hollow cardboard center to create this large ball. It is doubtful these yarns are hand spun.
Because of the cardboard core, and because the ball was not taken apart to be measured, it is not possible to tell the length of these intermingled cotton strands.
Still, this is a really attractive object, suggestive of the weaving process, and if one is patient and skillful enough, it could possibly be untangled and woven.
Just lovely.
