Two Fragments of Blue and Lavender Shibori Cotton: Spiderweb

$28.00 USD

mid twentieth century
eac piece: 16 1/2" x 12 1/2", 42 cm x 31.5 cm

Shown here are two lengths of mid twentieth century cotton shibori which were taken from a yukata which is an unlined, casual cotton kimono. These are the sleeves of the yukata.

The background is a pale lavender colored miura shibori. Large white "spiderwebs" with a deep indigo colored center are staggered down the length of the cloth.

Because the cotton length was taken from a garment, there are ingrained creases to it. As well, there is overall light fading and some faint stains, barely noticeable.

A charming and playful length of hand made shibori.
