An Indigo Dyed Cotton Boro Panel: Quirky White Stitching

$90.00 USD

early to mid twentieth century
64" x 13", 162.5 cm x 33 cm

This is a wonderfully artful length of indigo dyed cotton boro which shows delightfully quirky trails of white sashiko mending stitches that meander in small paths in the center of the panel.

The length of boro cloth is in most part made of two stitched layers and it was heavily starched so the length has a stiff and heavy feel.

But it is the stitching that is most charming about this piece--and the semi-circular dark patched adhered to the panel by white stitching is a wonderful foil to the linear stitched elements that are so endearing.

A lovely boro length.
