A Very Long and Wide Piece of Indigo Dyed Tie-Dye: Contemporary

This is a very generous amount of indigo dyed tie-dye: this long and wide length was acquired in Japan but seems to have been hand tied and dyed in China where this style of "shibori" is made.

The indigo is rich, deep and clear in tone and the tied and stitched repeat design is unusual, it appears to resemble an orchid although this is probably not intentional.

The cotton is machine loomed and the overall visual effect of the tie dye is impressive, not just for the size of the length but also for the skill in rendering.
