A Stitched Length of Three Types of Kasuri: Indigo Dyed Cotton

$85.00 USD

early twentieth century
71 1/2" x 18", 181.5 cm x 45.75 cm

This is a generous length of indigo dyed kasuri cotton that is composed of four separate pieces which are stitched together.

Interestingly, the piece on the right side of this cloth shows two different kasuri patterns however these two patterns are part of one length; the weaver morphed the design and now we have two.

The right hand side shows arrow feathers along with some medallion shapes while the patterns on the right are abstract. There is one small hole to the piece on the right which is shown here in a detail photo.

This is a really nice length of kasuri cotton with a lot of visual appeal and affords the owner a good deal of cloth to work with or something with beguiling visual appeal to display.
