A Shibori Diaper: Indigo Spiderwebs

$30.00 USD

ca. mid to late twentieth century
26 1/2" x 13", 67 cm x 33 cm

This loop of lightweight, powerloomed cotton is dyed in the shibori method--and it is a diaper.

This is a typical traditional Japanese diaper; by "loop" we mean that although the dimensions, above, state that this is "26 1/2", "67 cm" long, it is actually twice that since this cloth is doubled up on itself and hand stitched to form a "loop."

The simple, shibori decoration is lovely; the indigo is likely not botanical.

Were the stitching of this diaper undone, it would make a lovely, casual scarf or home accessory.

Really lovely
