A Sashiko Stitched Cloth: Planned and Unplanned Stitching

This folded and layered cotton cloth is hand sashiko stitched in white thread.

If you look carefully at the cloth you can see that guide lines for the stitching were drawn on the cloth in blue tailor's chalk. Some of the stitching, however, is done free-form and it is in these areas where the aesthetic interest lays.

Of good size this cloth is ready to be displayed in the home, enjoyed and lived with.
