A Sakiori Obi: Pale Warm Plaid
$95.00 USD
mid twentieth century
94" x 5 1/2", 239 cm x 14 cm
Shown here is a softly toned plaid sakiori obi, which is a traditional kimono sash that has been woven from a white and coral colored cotton warp and a weft of shredded, recycled cottons.
The rag weft yarn is arranged in beautifully organized regularly spaced bars of color--both plain and mottled--in sort tones of orange, pink, green and yellow.
A very nice example of a sakiori obi for its low contrast, tonal color and its good, used condition.
Please note one area of pulled yarns or loss shown on the accompanying detail photos.
