A Pieced and Segmented Length of Striped Cloth: Handwoven Cotton
ca. late nineteenth, early twentieth century
64 1/2" x 13", 164 cm x 33 cm
What a great-looking old, traditional, Japanese textile!
This length of indigo dyed cotton is hand stitched from 7 separate pieces of cloth, 6 of which are the same woven stripe.
The entire length is beautifully faded and the hand woven cotton is hand spun.
There are five hand stitched patches to this length, and one, faint, coin-sized stain.
