A Patched Plaid Length: Unusual Colors and Hand Spun Cotton Yarns
$55.00 USD
late nineteenth, early twentieth century
65" x 13 1/4", 165 cm x 33.5 cm
This is a length of beautifully woven plaid cloth which is made of hand spun cottons. It is oddly beautiful: the color combination--an inky blue/black with a kind of dull orange/ochre--makes for a strange mixture, yet the result, being unusual, is refreshing.
There are two patches which are hand stitched to the surface which shows some snags and a nice patina from wear.
A beautiful length of hand woven cotton from old Japan.
