A Pair of Sashiko Stitched Pot Holders: Unused
$25.00 USD
mid twentieth century
each: 6" x 4 1/4", 15 cm x 11 cm
This is a charming pair of layered and sashiko stitched pot holders: they were intended to be used in the kitchen while cooking.
The cotton is old and the stepped sashiko stitching is done in the mountain motif. The white stitching against the figured and striped ground is appealing.
A curious and lovely set of home made utilitarian textiles, this pair is still very usable today.
