A Narrow Blue and White Sakiori Obi: Ragweave
$85.00 USD
early to mid twentieth century
92" x 4", 234 cm x 10 cm
This is a beautifully colored, very narrow sakiori obi, or a rustic, traditional kimono sash that is woven using shredded cloth as its weft yarn.
The overall cool coloration is shown in bands of cream color interspersed with shades of blue, blue-grey and olive green. The warp yarns are white cotton.
This rustic obi, probably a man's, is in good, used condition with no obvious stains, tears or damage.
A handsomely colored folk textile in an appealing color palette, this obi is hand woven.
