This is nicely worn bib style apron which is made from indigo dyed kasuri cotton cloth.
The apron is stitched from two layers of this kasuri dyed cotton which has developed a very nice patina from wear and fading.
The "sashiko" stitching which holds the two layers of the apron together is done by machine in vertical lines placed in a nicely regular arrangement:
A charming home made accessory with a good deal of visual interest--a delightful garment that reflects traditional garments worn in Japanese homes.
