A Length of Western Styled Japanese Cotton: End Bolt
early to mid twentieth century
37"x 13 1/2", 94 cm x 34.25 cm
This is an interesting length of cotton cloth that seems to have been commercially printed in the early to mid twentieth century.
The earth-toned floral pattern is decidedly "Western" in style and certainly conjures the mood of the 1930s or 1940s by its design.
This fragment was taken from the end of the bolt as it has some writing on it saying something about a "registered" or "trademarked" company.
A curious length of cloth from the early 20th century in Japan.
A good pattern.
