What a lovely length of hand made, indigo dyed cotton shibori in a simple, beautiful pattern.
This piece, undoubtedly from Narumi/Arimatsu, is of a type that was pleated and tied before it was dyed: the "broken" vertically-dyed lines are due to the folded fabric having been bound by string before being vat dyed.
In good, bright condition and on good quality cotton, this length shows some ingrained creases from wear--and it is a handsome length of hand dyed shibori.
