A Length of Shibori: Fuchsia Geometry

$20.00 USD

mid twentieth century
60 1/2" x 13 3/4", 153.5 cm x 35 cm

This is a length of lightweight, commercially loomed cotton that is dyed in the shibori method, presumably in Japan's shibori "capital," Arimatsu.

The pattern that of a meandering wide, fuchsia colored line that works its way down the length of the cloth turning at 90 degree angles.

As it was taken from a yukata, an unlined, casual summer kimono, the length shows ingrained creases from its former life.
