A Length of Plaid Patched Cotton: Nice Old Boro

This is a gorgeous length of rustic, hand woven cotton showing two types of plaid cloth.
There are about seven patches on this length, the patches being of the same cloth as the base along with a different type of contrasting checked cotton.
The result of this staggered patching of the two types of plaid over the base results in a beautiful fracturing of pattern and surface.
The colors are muted and the cloth is old--this length of boro cloth conjures up the spirit of Japan in its former times and it is a wonderful fragment to own.
