A Length of Indigo Dyed Shibori: Spare Spaced Dots
mid twentieth century
55" x 13 1/2", 139.5 cm x 34.25 cm
This is a beautiful length of tie-dyed cotton shibori which shows a spare design of widely-spaced, small white dots--just beautiful.
The cotton base cloth seems to be machine loomed and it is quite supple and drapes beautifully. The indigo dyed is deep and velvety and the contrast of this with the small, white shibori dots is striking.
Note there is one mending patch to the length which is shown in the accompanying detail photos.
