A Length of Hand Spun Boro Cotton: Three Beautifully Colored Patches
$50.00 USD
early twentieth century
70 1/2" x 13", 179 cm x 33 cm
This length of hand spun, hand woven cotton is dyed in indigo which seems to have been over dyed with a yellow dye, thus producing this warm, blue-green color.
What makes this length so beautiful is the color of each of the three patches: two are of a rich, yellow-green and one is deep purple in color, so the contrast of these three patches with the base cloth is the aesthetic calling cardĀ of this piece of boro cloth.
A lovely length of cloth from old Japan.
