This is a wonderful length of rustic, indigo dyed hemp cloth. This is a panel from a kaya or mosquito netting, hence the very loose, open weave of the cloth.
The length is undyed the hemp yarns are wiry, which adds to the country appeal of this length. There are some faint, ingrained creases to this old length of hand woven hemp cloth.
In looking at the accompanying photos, notice that the warp and weft yarns are a bit stiff and unruly: just wonderful to see.
A lovely length of old, rustic kaya.
