This is a length of hand woven cotton that shows two columns of gradient stripes, one woven in a red color and the other woven in a yellow color.
The type of stripes as shown here are often seen in 19th century textiles and they might be an allusion to waterfalls: waterfalls, especially in ukiyo-e prints are similarly depicted.
A very handsome length of hand woven cotton, this length is in good, used condition.
A wonderful design that is beautifully realized.
