A Large Layered Zokin: Boro
$25.00 USD
ca. early to mid twentieth century
14 1/4" x 12", 36 cm x 30.5 cm
This is a large and thickly layered zokin, or traditional Japanese dustcloth, which has been assembled from old, discarded, handwoven and indigo dyed cottons.
The size is generous as is the layering: this zokin is wonderful for its boro "composition" and its lovely sashiko stitching which travels in a counterclockwise, geometric spiral.Wonderful.
