A Large Boro Zokin #2: Traditional Dustrag

$32.00 USD

early to mid twentieth century
14 1/2" x 14 1/2", 37 cm x 37 cm

Zokin are traditional Japanese dustrags which are almost always made from layered and sashiko stitched scraps of cloth.

This is a large-sized and very handsome boro zokin which is pieced-together recycled cotton cloth which has been beautifully sashiko stitched.

The stitching is eccentrically executed; the design of the cotton pieces is perfectly arbitrary; this is a very good example of an old zokin. Just wonderful.
