A Handsome Length of Hand Woven Striped Cotton: One Patch
$30.00 USD
ca. late nineteenth, early twentieth century
64" x 12", 162.5 cm x 30.25 cm
This is an understated yet very elegant length of hand woven cotton which was taken from a futon cover.
The cotton is indigo dyed and the two, wide stripes which decorate the length of the cloth are composed of several sub-stripes, the colors being white, a medium-range blue and deep indigo, the same color as the ground.
One, long patch hugs one of the selvedge edges, and aside from a spray of faint stains, hard to see, this length is in good, used condition.
