A Group of Four Katazome Dyed Cottons: Rich Fragments
$60.00 USD
late nineteenth, early twentieth century
each piece approximately 9" x 12.5", 23 cm x 31.5 cm
This is a group of four katazome dyed cotton patterns, each a short piece from a larger bolt but each showing a traditional design which is dyed onto hand woven, hand spun cotton.
The four show various, traditional katazome patterns that were used primarily for bedding.
This is a really delightful suite of charming katazome patterns which is presented here in hopes someone who collects katazome or admires this technique will appreciate the diversity of stylization and presentation of subject matter as shown on these fragments.
