A Group of Four Different Shibori Fragments: Narrow Pieces
mid twentieth century
each approximately: 51" x 7", 129.5 cm x 10.75
Shown here are four, narrow lengths of indigo dyed cotton shibori, each piece of cloth being taken from the collar, or eri, section of a yukata, which is an unlined, cotton summer kimono.
Each of the pieces is of a slightly different dimension and the average size is shown above: the selection represented here were all made in the mid twentieth century, and each shows some ingrained creases and fading from wear.
A wonderful sampler and one that can be easily applied to any fashion or art endeavor.
