In person this length of blue-on-white checked cloth is so much more beautiful than the accompanying photographs can portray.
The cloth is very soft in color; the cotton yarns are hand spun; the indigo dyed yarns are beautifully faded and are uneven in their coloration. Subtle and extremely beautiful.
As well, it is not exceptionally easy to find checked or plaid cloth in such light tones, the reason probably is that light colors show dirt more easily than dark colors.
On this length are applied two cotton patches; there is some faint surface soiling to the top 1/5 of this length of soft, hand woven cotton.
