A Beautifully Patched and Stitched Boro Length: Good Color
$45.00 USD
ca. late nineteenth, early twentieth century
41" x 12 3/4", 104 cm x 32.34 cm
This length of indigo dyed boro cotton is much more handsome in person than what is shown in the accompanying photos.
It is a fragment from a noragi or a work coat, and the finished edges of the noragi can still be seen on this fragment here. The cotton is tightly woven and beautifully colored; the patches are densely stitched to the base and are in good contrast to the heavily woven base cloth.
Take a leap of faith and acquire this length of boro cloth: it is a very good one, even for its modest size and presentation.
