120" x 6 3/4", 305 cm x 17 cm
This is a sakiori obi or a kimono sash that is hand woven from shredded cotton yarn. The warp is cotton and the weft is made of torn cotton pieces.
This obi shows a rich, chocolate brown color that is achieved by an arrangement of stripes in a tight tonal spectrum The rag weft yarns alternate in colors of brown and black and the warp yarns are of black threads, deepening the overall color of the obi.
The obi is in good, used condition and its rich, earthy color is really beautiful.
