Zokin are traditional Japanese dust rags which are almost always made from layered and sashiko stitched scraps of cloth.

This is a very handsome zokin which is sewn from recycled, hand spun, hand woven indigo dyed cotton cloth, about three layers in all.

The cotton is of very good quality and the indigo dye is natural. The hemp thread sashiko stitching is strong and regular, the tight rows of vertical stitching make a nice contrast against the indigo blue ground.

A good quality zokin.
