A Patched Length of Boro Cotton: Nice Distribution of Dark and Light

This is a length of layered and patched indigo dyed boro cotton, the length presumably taken from a futon cover.

The individual pieces are all borrowed and repurposed from other textiles, whether they were kimono, furoshiki or bedding is not known. 

What is very nice about this length is its aesthetics: it shows a wonderful, unintentional design of light and blue cotton, the light area showing curious and attractive stitching, a real delight.

Some of the dark blue cotton patches are loosely applied and the back of this length shows some tears to the surface which is not at all unusual and is to be expected.

For those interested in acquiring Japanese boro textiles this is a very nice one and can be used as a home accessory or hung on the wall to be admired as art. Because of the loose or missing seams in the cloth this is not recommended to be used as a garment/scarf unless you first mend or reinforce the loose areas.
