A Length of All Over Tied Shibori: Indigo Dyed Cotton

$35.00 USD

mid twentieth century
62" x 14 1/4", 157.5 cm x 36 cm

This is a length of miura shibori which shows a dense field of clustered blue dappling.

This length of shibori dyed cotton was taken from a yukata, an unlined summer kimono, and because this cloth was once part of a garment, it shows ingrained creases from wear.

From a distance the machine loomed, lightweight cotton cloth appears to have a slightly mottled, medium-toned color, but upon closer inspection the fine pattern of spots can be seen.

A lovely length of traditional shibori dyed cotton which was dyed on lightweight, commercially loomed cotton.
