A Long Panel of Very Patched Plaid Cotton: Hand Spun Yarns

$85.00 USD

late nineteenth, early twentieth century
69 1/2" x 13", 176.5 cm x 33 cm

This is a very long piece of hand woven, indigo dyed cotton which was taken from a futon cover.  The warm rich tones of the indigo color are hard to convey in photographs as is the subtle texture given by the hand spun cotton yarns.

The length is crammed with patches--16 in all--of many different sizes and fabrics which add a beautiful contrast to the plaid cotton base.

A beautiful boro length with a very good hand woven base cloth which is created from home spun cotton.

Just beautiful.
