A Full Bolt of Silk Shibori: Gentle Wave Pattern

$175.00 USD

mid twentieth century
approximately 12 yards x 12", 11 m x 30.5 cm

This is a full bolt of shibori dyed silk which is intended to be used to stitch a kimono.

The color of the silk cloth is a slightly odd take on brick: in certain light the color appears to show a faint cool cast to the terracotta tone; the tie-dyed puckers are dyed pinkish and greenish and some are undyed and they are white.

The pattern is interesting, too, as it is a kind of wave or sloping design with the tie-dyed bumps forming a more concentrated grouping near the one side of the bolt.

The cloth is highly textured and the design and color are lovely, too.

A visually interesting bolt of silk shibori cloth that might be inspiration for fashion or design ideas.
