A Zokin with Complex Stitching: Colored Sashiko

Zokin are traditional Japanese dustrags which are almost always made from layered and sashiko stitched scraps of cloth.

This is a very handsome, piece-constructed zokin which is sewn from recycled cotton cloth. The sashiko stitching is beautifully executed in green and pink colored threads and adds charm to this otherwise utilitarian cloth, as do the contrasting cotton striped and ikat cloth that can be seen on both front and back of this zokin.

A very good looking zokin with lovely stitching.
