A Length of Striped Kasuri Cotton: Two Stitched Pieces

$65.00 USD

early to mid twentieth century
63" x 13 1/2", 160 cm x 34 cm

This length of indigo dyed cotton kasuri cloth is hand stitched from two pieces: one of the accompanying detail photographs shows the seam which joins the two.

The repeat pattern is simple and beautiful: double vertical bars separate rows of upward and downward facing rectangles which are resisted in the kasuri or ikat method.

The cloth itself is in good, used condition and the geometry of the pattern is just beautiful.
