This length of hand woven, indigo dyed cotton cloth is beautiful in its own right, but it is even more so because of the large mending patch which shows beautiful, white, sashiko stitching.
The biomorphic shape which is stitched onto the patch follows the shape of the repair which was needed to be made, so in this we see a unintended moment of visual pleasure.
A delightful length of cloth.
