Zokin are traditional Japanese dustrags which are almost always made from layered and sashiko stitched scraps of cloth.

This is a handsome boro zokin which is pieced-together recycled cotton cloth which has been beautifully sashiko stitched.

The stitching is rustic and the design of the cotton pieces is perfectly arbitrary; this is a very good example of an old zokin.

Just wonderful.

Recommended.
